Known problems and limitations

Due to the limitation of Windows operating system and some software programs, the use of virtual desktop has been greatly limited. Please understand the information before use.

1、 Requirements for operating environment

1. Supported operating systems: Currently, the verified available systems are as follows:

•Windows10 - 10.0.19042.0 - Home Edition - 64bit

•Windows10 - 10.0.18363.0 - home version - 64bit

•Windows10 - 10.0.19042.0 - Professional - 64bit

•Windows11 Preview - Professional - 64bit

2. Unavailable slave operating system:

•Windows 7 and below

•Windows Server 2008 and below

3. Desktop software compatibility

Due to the limitation of virtual desktop, many software programs cannot be opened on the main desktop and virtual desktop at the same time. Therefore, we have listed some unsupported software lists. Please check the list first when using virtual desktop.Virtual desktop does not support multiple software lists

2、 Possible exceptions and operations

1. Start the virtual desktop

•When starting the virtual desktop for the first time, you need to log in to the system account to complete password verification. If the password is empty, you need to set the password to log in to the system first.

•It is necessary to ensure that the login virtual desktop user and the current computer system user are the same account.

•If the factory is found to flash back after logging in for the first time, exit and reopen the factory and start the virtual desktop operation again.

2. Startup FAQs

The octopus desktop will take the initiative to apply to the user for administrator permission to start with administrator permission. After receiving the user account control pop-up window, you need to click Yes to start. If the current user is a non administrator user, you need to switch to the administrator account to log in.

3. You need to enter windows login credentials.

•The first time you use the octopus desktop, you need to enter windows login credentials.

•The user credentials entered here must be consistent with the credentials currently logged in to windows.

•The user must set the login password

•If the user is using a Windows online account（ username@hotmail.com ）, you need to enter it every time you use the octopus desktop.

It is recommended to log in to windows with a local account. The online account will occasionally cause the white screen after the octopus desktop is started. It is necessary to restart the octopus desktop.

3、 Access issues

1. When the octopus desktop is running, it cannot be restarted or shut down. It can be operated only after the octopus desktop is closed.

2. The octopus virtual desktop is not allowed to run programs as an administrator

3. Z-factory does not support opening and editing in Octopus virtual desktop

4. If you encounter a white screen problem after startup, you can try to restart the octopus virtual desktop.

Special note:Some startup programs will restart in the octopus desktop and automatically log in software, such as enterprise wechat.
